I've had some crazy week

pff..Finally some relaxing time around here. I sure had a crazy week.

First off all my mother came here last weekend. She had a very swollen leg and a stumac pain. I didn't trust it so I took her to the doc who send us to the hospital. They did several tests and she could go home that saturday night. Sunday she called us that the doc called her to come in again for some other tests. And after that she was admitted to the hospital were she still is.

Then tuesday night my son got sick. Very sick, with a swollen lip, ears and a red rash all over his little body. We had to take him to the emergency doc in the middle of the night. Apparantly he had a allergic reaction to the virus he was having. Damn it scared the living daylights out of me.

My son is doing a lot better now after some anti-histamine meds. And it starts to turn out normal again here.

I hope you all had a better week then I did.

Sanquhar Gloves

I love them. I love sanquhar. These are some gorgeous gloves. I used phildar dark blue and white to knit these on size 2 mm needles.

Besides working on these gloves I'm also working on the butterfly socks. And maybe create my own sockpattern. We'll see how that goes.

After I finished the Llama sweater I started on the second sock pattern for Sokketiers.
It's a lovely pattern designed by Ballee with butterflies on it.

The pattern is very easy to remember and is knitting up very quickly.

I'm thinking about taking my blog to my own domain. I already have that but never used it for a blog. So what do you think?
THe problems with blogger always seem to be there. Can't respond to any comment in personal unless I have the email. I'll think about it some more

Wait..did I say Llama jet. Well the Llama sweater I made for my son is finished.

School is starting tomorrow, in other schools untill the emergency classes are on the right place and installed. Should take about a week.

My son healed perfectly after surgery. He was eating cheese sandwiches that very afternoon. No problems at all. He was home for a week to get his act together. Yesterday he went to school again. And then it happend.

During the night from Monday to Tuesday a fire burned down his school. He's so sad. And I am too, for him.

It's a new year and all I've been doing is cleaning the house. Well besides non bloggable related knitting.

Tomorrow is the day of my sons operation. I'm nervous about it and so is my son. Here's hoping all goes well.

Yeah I can knit again. My fingers are all healed again so I'm knitting further on the Llama sweater for my son. I have only the sleeves to finish so hopefully it will be finished very soon. We can sure use warm sweaters with all this cold weather that's hanging around here.

Can't knit or crochet and it's all the fault off that slippery road I bumped into yesterday. The skin on my fingers was scraped of and they feel bruised. My muscles were all protesting this morning when I wanted to get out off bed. I hope that when I'll have my fingers checked tomorrow they just put a plaster on so I can do something more then sit and watch movies or read

If you should know a way to knit with one hand please let me know

Little Knits

How I love little knits. There finished so quickly and the person you knit for can be so happy with little knits. I made a pair of socks for my son and he was willing enough to let me take a picture with the socks on his little feet.

Tonsillitis

My son is sick at home again with tonsillitis, 3th time this year. And my doc was really helpfull today to put a note together for the ent doctor. I hope that by the end of this year my sons tonsillitis will be gone.

So all I can do now is get enough popstickels for him and hope that he will start eating again very soon.

The sweater for him is coming along very nicely, working on the front as we speak. I also managed to put a pair of socks for him on the needles. Picture update coming soon.

A few months back I got a new cell phone and I played with all the options. Today I sat down and uploaded the pictures I took with it.

Yeah I have a new book and it's fabulous. It's Country Weekend Knits and there are a lot of gorgeous patterns in there.

I'll have to make up my mind which pattern I want to make first. But before I start there I have the beginning off a sweater already on my needles for my son. As requested with Llama's.

Yeah the sweater I was knitting for my son is finished. It took some time but he can actually wear it when it get's colder here.

On to the next sweater as he requested another Llama one. He grew out of the first one I knitted for him. Yarn is waiting for me now. Here is the first Llama sweater I knitted for him.

Sinterklaas..

Today we went to the trainstation to watch Sinterklaas come into town.

For you who don't know the story behind it, here's a short story with a link to some history.

The Feast of Sinterklaas, or St. Nicholas, is an annual event which has been uniquely Dutch and Flemish for centuries. St. Nicholas' Feast Day, December 6th, is observed in most Roman Catholic countries primarily as a feast for small children. But it is only in the Low Countries - especially in the Netherlands - that the eve of his feast day (December 5th) is celebrated nationwide by young and old, christian and non-christian, and without any religious overtones.
Although Sinterklaas is always portrayed in the vestments of the bishop he once was, his status as a canonized saint has had little to do with the way the Dutch think of him. Rather, he is a kind of benevolent old man, whose feast day is observed by exchanging gifts and making good-natured fun of each other. It so happens that the legend of St. Nicholas is based on historical fact. He did actually exist. He lived from 271 A.D. to December 6th, 342 or 343. His 4th century tomb in the town of Myra, near the city of Anatolia in present-day Turkey, has even been dug up by archaeologists.

My son will be so happy when he comes home from school today. I managed to knit up the pants for his cuddle last night and just sew it together.

Sunday I finished the Schier Socks. I love the way they look but I honestly can't see anymore twisted stitches. Here's the finished pair.

Then yesterday my son asked if I could make a mini sweater for his favorite cuddle. Now how can you say no to that. So I sat down and wrote up a little pattern to knit a tiny little sweater. Someone on plurk said I started an avalange when I mentioned that the following request are some pants, socks and a blanket. She was quite right.

Last but not least some sock ornaments to go in a little christmas tree.

See that my knittingmojo came back to me. After I wrote the last post I cast on for the second sock. And I've already turned the heel.

So i guess getting it finished will happen soon.

I'm also busy for Sinterklaas as december 5th is arriving very soon. I've successfully found a present for just the ammount we settled on. Now I only have a rhyme and surprise to make. Wish me luck.

I have been knitting but it felt like I lost my knittingmojo. I've tried several patterns but couldn't find it.
Since I've started the Sanquhar gloves I found it again. These are so gorgeous, I'm in love...
Then I was in a knittery feeling so I finished Schier. I changed the pattern to 72 stitches.

Now to find the time to make the second glove and sock.

It's been a while. With my sons birthday and him getting sick with toncilitis right after that there hasn't been an update.

Here is a picture of the latest dyeing I did. Nature, 100 % Merino. It's going to be spun a 3 ply. I am already working with it.

I've joined the first Dutch Sockclub called Sokketiers. And last Saturday I recieved the first pattern and yarn.

I love it. It's gorgeous yarn and a fabulous pattern.

The yarn was dyed by Storm in the Attic and the pattern was written by Yarnissima. Now what more does a girl want. It's amazing.

I know, it's been awhile. I've had the flue with earinfection. And I have a shoulder injury. Both are not so good to be blogging or knitting. For my ear I have to go to the ear doctor next week, possibly to get tubes in.

Slowly I'm starting again both with knitting and spinning.

But wait I have great news. My son can finally ride a bike. So we got him a new one and he loves it. Couldn't get him of it last saturday.

Crazy Easter

What do you do when you have a power failure that last almost the entire day?

Well when Joey got home from school last friday we started playing with domino stones. So much fun..Except for the part when they keep on falling when you don't want them too.

Finally at 2.30 pm we had power again. For about 3 hours atleast then it went of again when the repair men started to repair the broken cable.

Oh my have we been busy. Or I should say my DH and Son. Look at them working together side by side.

After that first layer of red paint there got 2 more on to get a nice brown-red color.

Don't look at the mess, I've still got some sorting out to do. In the mean time I'm working on my evening stockings and the lace top.

Yippie, I finished the first Firestarter from Yarnissima. I love this sock and the pattern. I did use a Magical cast on for the toe. It worked better for me then the toe described in the pattern.

I used Scheepjes Invicta Extra on size 2,5 mm circ. Now on to the second sock.

This post sure is. I've been so busy knitting that i have lots of pictures to show you. I am participating in a craftsfair so i am knitting my little fingers of. But it's ok, I like knitting. And i want something to take with me to the fair. It's on november 24th in Lunteren and i will be there with my knitting, spinning and soaps.

It's not the best picture, but i like how it came out with the linen/cotton blend.

I just finished clue 1 of the mystery stole. It's knitting easy along and even the beading is working out ok. I'm using some stash yarn which is a mix of 50% cotton and 50% linen, with gold color beads.

Spinning Update

Finally the latest update on spinning. It took some time because I had to take joey to the doctor. Joey's sleeping problem is beeing worked on as of today. It seems he makes his melatonine to late in the evening for him to get a deacant night sleep. So now he is getting tablets that will make him sleep earlier in the night.

Easter egg dyeing and spinning. This was just a test after easter, plunged in some wool to see how it would work out.

This is rainbow romney, i bought last year at a spinmeeting.

And this is clun forest that i dyed using colortex. Before and after shot.

This is about 900 yards totaly with what i have hanging outside drying. Any ideas on what to make with it??

Sock update

These socks where finished quite some time ago. But I forgot that i had to get batteries for my camera.

The socks are made with Sock that Rock yarn, watermelon tourmaline. I love these socks.

And these next ones are going to be for my mom, a mothersday gift so i better keep on knitting if I want to finish them on sunday. The yarn i'm using is from Phildar Hobby. I've never used that before and I must say I like the way these knit up.

Next up is a spinning update.

Early Birthday Present

Yesterday DH came home with an early birthday present. He had it made especially for me.

After i saw it I was very silent. It's beautiful and just what i wanted.

Joey's Request

After the dyeing was done i asked Joey what he wanted me to make out of his yarn.

Me: what should i make for you? A blanket?
Joey: mmm no mommy, i want a crocodile
Me: are you sure?
Joey: yes a crocodile

So a crocodile he got. A small one that he called crockie. Isn't that cute.

Next thing i asked him what to make with the leftovers.
Joey said he wanted a bear. So i started looking for a pattern of a bear. And thank heaven i found one in a small book i once bought at a fleemarket.

The body of the bear was simple enough. But the accents are all in crochet. I'll put it mildly it took me about two weeks to finish those..ahum.. But i think it looks fabulous. And for once i'm proud of the crocheting i did.

And Joey, a well, he's happy as can be. Bear and Crockie sleep along his side when he goes to bed.

Dyeing and more

Joey and I have been very busy with dyeing some scheepjes yarn. I handed him the bottles with the colors he chose and he did the dyeing. Honestly when i were to try these colors it probably wouldn't work. I love the way he did these two skeins. It's a true rainbow. I'm so proud of him.

Later that evening i did some of my own dyeing for some nice spring colors.

I've also been knitting with socks that rock yarn. Wonderful i love this color watermelon. Almost done with the second one.

And finally i started on some mittens. I like how they come out but it doesn't work for me like knitting socks do. There's something magical about knitting socks.

And I've finally found a way to use up my leftover sock yarn. After i saw a picture somewhere in blog land (sorry forgot where) i started an afghan with leftovers.

Yesterday Joey and I went for a short visit to the kringloopwinkel (secondhand store) because i was looking for something when i stumbled upon this book about lace knitting. It's a dutch book called; de techniek van het kunstbreien by henriette van der klift published in 1984 for only 1,25 euro

Vacation is over

Vacation here is long over, but i took some time extra. I was so busy with knitting and spinning that i forgot all about time and place. See here the first 5 pair of socks for 2007.

I'm also working on a scarf with the angora/alpaca that i've spun. I've just started this so there's not so much to see yet. But it's nice and soft.

And here is the result of my spinning adventures of the last weeks. I've given navajo plying a good try and i must say i'm getting better at it. First is clun forest, navajo plyed.
And here we have some shetland dyed with blauwhout, also navajo plyed. Looks like blue jeans to me.

PS; I measure my homespun before washing it.

Several children socks, made from leftovers. That makes my total sock count for this year 15 pairs. And total for 2005 and 2006 is 32 pairs.

And the green sweater, not in time for christmas but in time for the new year.

V, W, X, Y and Z

V is for Vacation, at the end of the day DH has two weeks vacation and we are ready to enjoy it. No plans made just doing what we like.

W is for Wool that i've been washing to spin on my Wheel. The last week i've been washing a large plastic bag of clun forest to get ready for spinning. It's almost dry so the next thing i have to do is get the drumcarder out and card away.

X is for XMas, Happy Holiday's to you all.

Y is for Yarn, here are some of the yarns i made this year i'm most proud of.
Z is for Zelda our new angora bunny, finally i have a decent picture of her. She's a beautiful blue-ish color but not quite the photomodel. We have her since july.

Also working on socks for myself but they are on hold for the time beeing.

Q, R, S and T

I’ve been a bit busy so I am behind in the abc along. I’m going to try and catch up.

First we have Q, which is a Question from Irma and Jose, who where wondering how I measure my homespun. Well lady’s I use a Niddy Noddy.

I count the rounds and then multiply the total. It’s a very handy tool and if you’re a bit handy easy to make on your own.

Then we have R is for the Remainder of my latest spinning. I've been asked to do some spinning and what you can see here are the two skeins i have left. The other 20 skeins (about 50 grams each) are now in hands of another owner.

And also S, which stands for MD-Scarf. I made this for Joey and it was a fun knit although it took me quite some time to finish it.

And the last one for today is T for Lace Top, also finally finished not in time for summer but at least I can wear it next summer.

And this is my latest project, plying angora with alpaca to make myself a soft and cuddly scarf.

P is for Project finished, i finally did it. It took some time but Christening Chrysalis is finished. Just a few days late because on sunday our niece was born. But then i could have done it in time if the color of the centerpanel was just right. I had to do that one twice..grr

O is for..i've Outdone myself while spinning this merino roving. It's 942 meters, 2 ply, weighing 256 grams, for needle size 2,5/3 mm. I think that's a pretty good job.

On the knitting front i've made some progress on the Christening Chrysalis. It's going very slow at this time because i have over 800 stitches on the needle, but i think i will get it finished right on time (before the beginning of november).

And here's my progress for the SamplerM knitalong. On to the next few patterns that are already available.

Yeah, Yippie, i've got a brand new spinning wheel. I'm so happy with it. It's a Louet S51 DT and it's my treasure. What a difference a new wheel can make. The other wheel i have was a secondhand and has it's squeeky noices, but this runs ever so smooth. So i'm a bit busy at the moment trying it out.

Homemade in Barneveld

First are the merino socks i dyed, spun and knitted for myself. I know that merino isn't the best choice for socks but if i only have them on when it's really cold here then i'm happy. I love how these turned out!

And more homemade to add to the list. I found a new hobby and i'm already addicted to it. Making soap is so much fun to do. This is my first try at it. I used Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil and Castor Oil to make these. And i'm already thinking what i'm going to make next.

Here is a picture of the first two patterns. We had a week of vacation and after that it became to hot to do anything else but swim in a pool so i didn't get any further with it. I have the next two patterns already printed out.

April Shower, June Flower

Well it would have been a May Flower but it became a June one for me. I joined a swap on a Yahoogroup and i'm so pleased with my presents i started spinning the alpaca that came with it as soon as i finished plying the blue texelaar i was working on.
Here is what was in my little box all the way from Peggy in Maine. A wonderful t-shirt with little light house pin, a winnie the pooh cup for joey, brown alpaca, cottswald lambswool and a ball of merino wool from frog tree.

Here is a picture of the alpaca, i plyed it together with white alpaca i still had in my storage.

Here is it washed an dryed, all ready for a project i still need to pick out. It's almost 60 yards.

It's been a while but since i promised to show you all pictures and i'm finally feeling better, i thought it was about time i took them.

On the 17th we went to Ede, for a spinmeeting. I saw the most amazing spinningwheels there and even got to try two off them.

This is a little spindle with a handpainted angorabunny on it. It's perfect and i've given it a try with some angora i had left from willow.

Then there is another spindle, i have no idea what kind this is. But it spins like a dream.

Beautiful merino roving, in blue and yellow and some handdyed rainbow romney.

Two bags with wool, one zwartbles and one clun forest. I guess i'll be busy for the rest of this year..

We stayed there a good part of the day, just looking all over the place and having a hard time getting joey to go home with us. If it where up to him he would still be there running around having fun. As it seems blogger won't let me upload more then 5 pictures so the others will have to wait for the next post.

L is for Lavender, which is just starting to bloom in our frontgarden. So i thought it would make a nice picture for my blogentry. See how Joey loves the lavender also. Everytime we go out the door his little hands touch the flowers and he says smell mommy, mmmm nice.

First of all I want to thank you all for the wonderfull comments i recieved on my finished shawl and the heartwarming comments i recieved after willow past away. We have decided that there is going to be a new bunny in a few weeks, we just have to wait untill she's old enough to leave the nest.

K is for Knit Stitch, which is about all i did after monday afternoon.
I had to go to the surgeon to get the infection removed at the top of my root. I hope i never have to go through that again. You don't want to know what that side of my face looks like right know. It's just terrible. So all i can concentrate on is knitting socks as simple as they can be. But when you use some selfstriping yarns they turn out just beautiful.

I made these socks with knitpicks yarn, using a forthought heel. And here is the best shot i could get of the merino socks i'm working on.

I did manage to get some spinning done also. We went to a spinmeeting on saturday and i saw a lot of things for inspiration. We had the most wonderful morning and i went home with two spindles, merino rovings, some rainbow colored romney, a big bag of clun forest and a bag of zwartbles. Pictures of my buyings will have to wait untill my next post.

Busy Hands

Busy hands indeed, i had to keep them busy because i had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics i got from my dentist. Unfortunately they didn't do there work so i have to go and make an appointment with a surgeon to get the infection near the root of my tooth removed.

I kept busy with the lovely lacy shawl from canadian living, i'm almost done with panel 6. Then panel 7 shouldn't take to long because it only has 2 rows to work, panel 8 however is a different story there are 40 rows and a picot edge of some sort. So it will take some time before i can call this one finished.

I did finish the chevron socks over the weekend. I loved knitting with the fortissima, so smooth to work with.

After i finished the chevron i casted on for some simple stockinette socks using yarn i got as a present. These are flying of the needles.

J is for .. Joy of Spinning

J is for the Joy of Spinning. I've been spinning a lot lately. Mostly working with the merino i dyed a couple of weeks back.

Handspinning is the art of twisting fiber into a continuous thread by hand or by using a spinning wheel (the Joy of Handspinning).

Here are a few pictures of my latest joy.

Bobbin filled with navajo plyed merino.
The Navajo Plying technique allows you to turn a single thread of yarn into a 3 ply yarn. It is also used to create various color effects with multi-colored fiber. (the Joy of Handspinning)

Fresh from the niddy-noddy, i'm very pleased with the end result.
A niddy noddy is a simple tool that is used to make a skein of your hand spun yarn straight off the wheel. The yarn can then be washed, dyed and the twist set.

Well i didn't set the twist yet because i wanted to get some pictures up here. It's a total of 596 yards (weight 7.7 ounces, 17 wpi). And a close up of the navajo ply.

It took me a long time to ply those 2 skeins. Since it was my first "real" attempt at Navajo plying. After lots of useful tips and trying with a single of blue texelaar i dived in and i'm extremely happy that it worked out so well. It kept the colors just as i wanted them to be when i started dyeing the roving.

The textured socks from the mustergroup are finished. I love them and will make more textured socks in the future.

And now on to pair number 26. I'm working with fortissima socka color. I'm using a chevron pattern from the sensational knitted socks book (which was a present for mothersday from my DH and Son).

First time i worked with a for-thought heel and i prefer it much better then a short row heel. No gaps, no wraps to pick up.

I leave you with the snowball delight i have in my backyard. At this time it's in it's full glory.

I is for Inactive. After months of just lying in my knitting bag i picked up the lace shawl again two nights ago. I knew there where some things wrong in the last patternlines i worked but at that time couldn't see them. And now..well i finally finished pattern three!! And adjusted line 9 and 11 so that the rest of the pattern can go on as described.

This is how i left it in July last year

Very Inactive for almost a year. And this is where i left last night. Have yet to insert the lifeline so i finally can continue to pattern 4.

H is for Husband. My Hubby is very Handy, always spending sparetime building things, thinking out new projects to make.
So when it was time that my dear bunny's had to get separated because they where hurting eachother. My husband made them a new house..

Thanks Hubby you're the best. You've really outdone yourself on this one. It's simply beautiful.

Small Socks, Big Socks

Let's start this post with some small socks. My mother in law asked me to knit some samples out of katia mississippi 3 print. They own a paint bussines and she also sells some yarns and babyclothes. That's why i made the balls, just made some squares using different patterns. So that people can see how it knits up. With the remainings i made some little socks.

This is the ball and socks made out off colorway 200.

And this is the set made out off colorway 207.
Next up are some ankle socks i made for myself, from one of my very first homespun yarns.

And the latest pair on the needles are socks from the Mustersocken group. The extra pattern for January 2005. I was really in the mood to make some solid color socks with some texture in it. And these are just flying of the needles. As for my sockcount this will be pair nr. 25!!

G is for

G is for Green or Growth since the calender has moved into springtime. Although the most day's it feels like we're still in autumn because of all the rain that's been falling down.
But look at all the little white flowers in our little prunetree.

And here is the start of the little red berry's. In a month orso this little bush will be filled with those.

Sockday including pattern

I've finished the Dutch lace socks about a week ago. I think they came out quite nice using the Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn (color parfait).

For all of you that are interested i've translated the pattern. It's in the free pattern section in the sidebar. Hope you have as much fun knitting them as i did. And let me know when you're finished i'd love to see pictures of other finished pairs.

F is for Fun

F is for Fun, dyeing with koolaid. Thanks to Jenn i had a bunch of koolaid waiting to dye with. All it took was to get the perfect roving. Which i found a couple of weeks ago in a Dutch internet store called het stookhok. They had some beautiful merino roving that was just waiting to be dyed with koolaid.
I used the techniques that are described in the Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook to dye the roving.
Here is the roving. I used red, orange and green to dye with, it's about 250 gr. of merino roving.

Here is some of it already prepaired for spinning. I love the way the colors change when you prepaire it, they look so much softer now.

And here is a part already spun, just to see how it would turn out. I'm in love with these colors. I'm certainly going to give it another try.

Or it should be, Yes I did it..Sorry but Joey loves to watch Dora the Explorer and that tune has been in my head all day long. So without further ado here's my finished Ribby Cardi.

I used the Denise Needles nr. 6 and 7 and it came out fabulous, at least i think so. The pattern is perfectly written, my compliments to the designer. I've made the bodyparts 2 inches longer then the pattern calls for, it's a collared version with a 2-way zipper.

E, which stands for Eggs from our own little chickens.

Nothing much to tell about our chickens other then that Joey loves to help me feed them and that i'm having a hard time getting him out of there when he's done that.

Or E is for Eventually i did finish my moms socks. Closed the toe using my lovely Darning Egg that i got from Debi.

Pattern: Rob's twined rib socks

Yarn: Populair Jogging dark gray

Needles: US 2

Changes i made to the original pattern: I made it a zig-zag pattern, using the pattern stitch from the twined rib sock once and then the second pattern section i worked in the opposite direction, for a total of 5 pattern repeats. On the foot i didn't use the pattern stitch but carried on with the ribbed pattern to give it some stretch.

D is for..

D is for Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needles, which i got as a christmas present from my dear friend Debi. Here are finally a few pictures of me using them.
First on the needles is one of the fronts for the ribby cardi, the other side is on hold. It's coming along quite nicely i think.

Second on the needles is the MDK scarf which i wanted to try out at the time i could only do small projects.

And D is for Dogs, finally i got almost decent pictures of the three of them.
First we have Bobby (cairn terrier) enjoying a lazy afternoon's rest on the couch.

And last the two lazy lady's. In white we have Lady (maltese) also enjoying her rest on the couch and in sand color we have Laika (cairn terrier) very difficult to get a decent picture off because she always taking her rest in the bench we got under the stairs.

It took me quite some time but i finally spun up all the brown alpaca that i got from berti. I think it turned out pretty well. It's very soft and almost 309 yards of 2 ply. Maybe it will turn into socks with the addition of some white angora. Not sure yet. If you have any other idea's please let me know.

Now i'm waiting for my table to get back into the house so i can do some carding again and spin some blue texelaar.
There's also some progress beeing made on the socks. The first sock of the dutch lace pattern is finished, i made a promiss to myself that i have to finish my moms socks first before i can start on the second one.

And here are my moms socks. Just picked up the gusset stitches on the second sock so it won't be to long before she can actually wear them.

Guinea Pig Update

Here's a picture of the guinea pig family. Well the three baby's at least. I wanted to get them together in a picture so i used a tiny laundrey basket to take the picture.

This morning we sold two and kept one because she was already named by my dear friend debi and as soon as i heard that the dark brown was also a female we took her back home with us. So debi is living happily with her mom.

Unfortunately Punkie (the dad) died last week so we'll have to go and look for another mate for Ninka.

C is for....

C is for Coffee, it's the first thing i make when i get downstairs. Only senseo coffee is used in this household. After we got our first senseo machine we couldn't get used to regular coffee anymore so when that broke down on us we bought a new one immediately.

C is for Cold, see poor Joey in the picture. Yesterday when i got him out of bed it started and this morning is even worse. His little nose won't stop running. And besides that he's also getting a new molar. So you can imagine how he's feeling right now.

C is also for Coloring, which Joey loves to do even when he's sick. Everytime he's coloring he talks about what he's making. Most of the time he's coloring the dogs or his daddy. He makes up great story's when he does that.

And C is for Cloud, as in Word Cloud.

First off all, sorry for the poor posting in the last few weeks. I was knocked out with some crazy ribs that made the use of my left arm, well not very good. But i'm doing much better now so here's the update on what i've been working on. All i knitted for the last few weeks where socks.

Broken Dreams Mustersocken

Yarn: Scheepjes Invicta Coloris (color 1674)

Needles: US 1

The pattern is easy to follow but i wouldn't use the scheepjes anymore it's not a pleasant yarn for the wrists.

Summer Solstice Socks

Yarn: Online Supersocke (color 818)

Needles: 2,5mm Addi Aluminum

Fabulous pattern and the yarn is a dream to knit with. Very smooth in combination with the needles i used.

Belated Christmas Present

Well I knew I would get it in January but I was still surprised when the mailman rang the doorbell to hand me two packages. The next day he came again to give me the last one.
I was overwhelmed, blown away when I opened them up.

Look what my dear friend Debi send me for a Christmas present.

A Denise knitting needle set, how fabulous is that. I love it (sorry debi still haven’t found the time to try them yet, but tonight it’s going to happen)

A darning Egg, already used it.
7 balls of Peruvian Highland Wool for a ribby cardi. I just have to go to the store to find a nice matching colour to go with it.

4 balls of Knitpicks to make DH some socks, 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock Parfait, 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport Daffodil and a ball of Bernat Disco. I’ll be busy knitting for the rest of the year.
Also some zip lock bags, which I already used to reorganize my yarn stash.
Stash tea, green Tabasco sauce (which can't be found in the store's here), sour candy’s (not in picture, because DH can't keep his hands out of those bags) and some nice lavender bath bubbles (not in picture, because it's already in use in the bathroom).

I can't thank you enough for this fabulous gift. Just to say i love you "Sis".

B is for Blue

B is for Blue Mini Ripley from knitty, i made this for Joey. I've been working on this like crazy for the past two weeks to get it finished. The pattern is nice to work with and i like the sweater knitted on a circ..very little sewing in the ends. Here it is..

And a close-up of the little cables and anchor panel in the front center. This one is very close to the actual color of the sweater.

Here's the little comediant himself. He was playing hide and seek while i was taking pictures of his sweater.

Socks in progress

The last few weeks i've been busy knitting socks whenever i had the time. Here is the progress so far.
First are the broken dreams socks from the Mustersockenknitalong. There not going fast but i'll get to the end of the second one.

Then there are socks in progress for my mom, i slightly changed the twined rib pattern in the sidebar for this sock. I know, it's a terrible picture i will have to try and get a better one during the day.
